Suds-n-Soles Series
The club meets monthly outside of our normal scheduled runs for a Suds-n-Soles, usually on the third Thursday of each month. We start at 6:30 and end our run at a variety of Loudoun County Breweries. Come join your fellow runners for either a walk, bike, or 5-mile run (or your desired distance) followed by a refreshing beer or beverage of your choice. See the run calendar for the scheduled brewery. |
Volunteer Opportunities
Quarterly Washington & Old Dominion Trail clean up
After a run we get gloves, trash bags and clean the segment of the W&OD trail that we adopted, mile marker 36 to mile marker 37. Maintaining the beauty of this section west of Leesburg is a great way to enhance the experience for all trail users, including us! See the run calendar for the next clean up.

Girls on the Run volunteers
See the message below from Megan Fay, Program Coordinator for Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia
Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia advocates and delivers physical-activity-based, positive youth development programs (PA-PYD) for pre-adolescent and adolescent (3rd thru 8th grade) girls in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Falls Church, Loudoun, Manassas, Manassas Park and Prince William.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving more than 60,000 girls since 2000, GOTR NOVA works to engage the entire community to positively impact the health and well being of the girls of Northern Virginia, their families and the volunteer coaches who serve them. You can learn more on our website at www.gotrnova.org
We are currently recruiting volunteer coaches and substitute coaches for our spring season. Our spring season begins the week of March 4th and ends with our 5K celebration weekend slated for the weekend of May 18-19, 2024.
Our volunteer coaches act as leaders/mentors to our participants using our transformational curriculum. No prior coaching experience or running availability is needed. We just ask that volunteers are ready and willing to share their time, energy, and talents throughout the season. During the season, teams typically meet twice a week for 60 to 90 minutes each session. Practice schedules are determined by each individual site.
Although we have several teams in need of coaching support throughout Northern Virginia, we have two sites in Loudoun County in need of assistance. The two teams are Farmwell Station Middle School and Brambleton HOA. Farmwell Station Middle School meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Brambleton HOA meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in coaching can register at the following link - https://www.pinwheel.us/volunteer/index/014IOCA0FB6EQN8
We would love the opportunity to connect to discuss our organization including our Girls on the Run workshops for grown ups as well as our events and volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Please let me know what works best for you. We appreciate your help!
