2/14 Waterford
I was tempted to declare the Long Run List cancelled this week due to inclement conditions, after all even the George Washington Birthday Marathon has been cancelled, but maybe by Sunday we'll have packed snow to run on instead of gargantuan drifts. I'm heading out to buy Yaktraks today just in case. Otherwise we'll all meet at Casey's house to take turns on her treadmill. I should probably check with her first..... nah.
If conditions are favorable on Old Waterford Rd by Sunday then those preparing for Boston and those without good sense can meet at Rust Library to run out and meet the club for the scheduled loop through Waterford. I think a 7:00 start should get us there in time for the 8:15 club run.
Where/When:
- Sunday: Meet at Rust Library at 7:00 a.m.
Directions to the Run:
- This run starts from Rust Library. From the center of Leesburg, north on King St (15 Bus.); left on North St; follow street to right (the start of Old Waterford Rd); library is approximately 1/2 mile on right.

Sun Run
Submitted by Casey on Sat, 2010-02-13 14:19.Haha! The treadmill has certainly been getting use here - so have the snow shoes - yes, real snow shoes have been to only way we have made it to and from the barn. We just got plowed, so I will be at the school at 8am as the run sponsor. I know that Loyalty Road is very dangerous for foot travel - the drifts are 8-10 feet on either side in sections. So, it might be wise to plan on thinking of an alternate Waterford route once you get to the school.
Sunday
Submitted by Matt on Sat, 2010-02-13 13:29.As I unquestionably lack good judgment I will be there tomorrow morning. Out of curiosity, has anyone seen how Old Waterford looks?
Round Hill - Sat. 7:45
Submitted by Diane on Fri, 2010-02-12 21:56.Heidi and I are going to start @7:45 promptly to run 12ish miles avoiding Woodgrove. Please join us!
What do you think about
Submitted by Diane on Fri, 2010-02-12 20:17.What do you think about running it backwards and turning around when we hit Woodgrove? That would make it 12ish I think.
Saturday 9 Miles
Submitted by Tom on Fri, 2010-02-12 17:42.I'll run the 9 mile loop tomorrow although I think Woodgrove Rd is going to be dangerous with no shoulder because of the snow.
Saturday
Submitted by Diane on Fri, 2010-02-12 17:00.Is anyone running in Round Hill tomorrow? That 9 mile loop would be perfect to test out the yaks. Dirt roads and hills...
Sunday...
Submitted by T-bone on Fri, 2010-02-12 16:30.Not only am I lacking good sense; I also failed to acquire yaktrax. Nonetheless, will plan to join you for 7am! Hopefully I'll remember my shoes this time...

Rust on Sunday
Submitted by Tom on Fri, 2010-02-12 16:10.I'm planning the adventure from Rust on Sunday and like Dave I may try to catch a ride back from Waterford depending on how I feel.
Not training for Boston, so . . .
Submitted by Allison on Fri, 2010-02-12 12:14.I guess I fall in the other category - will join you for Rust to Waterford on Sun. I'll be testing out new Yaktrax too - mine were delivered yesterday!
Saturday?
Submitted by heidi on Fri, 2010-02-12 11:57.Anyone running longish (10-11) on Saturday?
Dave will run from Rust
Submitted by Dave Haber on Fri, 2010-02-12 11:50.I guess both apply - preparing for Boston and without good sense. Hope the Yak Trax I ordered on-line get here in time. I might need a ride back from Waterford depending on how I feel.
