Ellington Loop (~15 mi.)

 

Directions to the Start:

From the center of Leesburg, north on King St (15 Bus.); left on North St; follow street to right (the start of Old Waterford Rd); library is approximately 1/2 mile on right. Ida Lee side: From the center of Leesburg, north on King St (15 Bus.); left into Ida Lee Park; bear left into the parking lot next to the library.

Directions for the Run:

  • Start on the paved trail next to Rust Library and head toward Old Waterford Rd.
  • Follow Old Waterford Rd. (west) until you run out of trail, then get on the road
  • Follow Old Waterford Rd. Hurley Ln.
  • Turn left onto Hurley Ln. and follow it to Clarke’s Gap Rd. (662)
  • Turn left onto Clarke’s Gap Rd. and follow it to Rt. 9 (Charles Town Pike)
  • Turn right onto Rt. 9 then left onto Simpson Circle.
  • Follow Simpson Circle all the way around until it meets Rt. 9 again.
  • Turn right onto Rt. 9 and follow it E. Colonial Hwy. (old Rt. 7)
  • Turn right onto E. Colonial Hwy. and follow it to Canby Rd.
  • Turn left onto Canby Rd. and follow it to Thomas Mill Rd.
  • Turn left onto Thomas Mill Rd. and follow it to Dry Mill Rd.
  • Turn left onto Catoctin Circle and follow it to Market St.
  • Cross Market, and the street name changes to Fairview St.
  • Follow Fairview to Old Waterford Rd.
  • Turn right onto Old Waterford Rd. and continue back to Rust Library
  • Done!
