August 15th ????

? and the Mysterians

The group named itself after the 1957 Japanese science fiction film The Mysterians, in which aliens from the destroyed planet Mysteroid arrive to conquer Earth

.

The Sunday run is Unison. I'll be away exploring the Grindstone course so if you have any long run ambitions for this weekend then post your suggestions here and see what happens.

Okay . . .

While it will reduce Loudoun Road Runner county coverage tomorrow, I'm going to be at Market Station at 6:30 and join the others to run the Canby to Hamilton loop per Mike Moye's post here. I'll save the MMM for another day.

Trail Run on Sat from Keyes Gap

Hey Steph and anyone else interested....  Keyes Gap directions - Rte. 7 W to Rte 9 West.  Follow Rte 9 through Hillsboro, past the light at Harper's Ferry Rd. (Rte 671).  Continue on Rte. 9, go past the Liberty Gas Station on your left, then past Shady Lane on your right.  in approx. 1/4 mile, you will see a sign for the App. Trail and Keyes Gap parking on your right.  Meet you there at 7:00.  For anyone joining, please carry your own water (and snacks if you want them.)  This is a self-supported run.

And I'm not lost (John!)

Remember, it's all about the journey, not the destination.....

Saturday, 11-mile option

I plan to start with Mike and Phil once they've settled on a time. However, I'll being doing the Thomas Mill loop and depart their wonderful company  along the way and head back down the trail. I'll even drop water at the rock where Dry Mill crosses the trail.

It is decided...

... Market Station at 6:30am.

15 on the 14th for me

All four of the comments were all over the place.  Mike's got 15 at 6am, jimmr's got 10k at ?,  Phil is MMM at 6:30 and Pat is lost at 7.

I'll be at Market Station ready to go at 6:30.  15 sounds good and the original MM's 15 route looks good.

Something 15 or plus

I'm thinking of something a little long on Saturday, say http://www.loudounroadrunners.org/node/20, but maybe shorter (~15) a detour to Digges and then to the W&OD via Harmony Church and Harmony Station, something like that.  Starting at 6 a.m. or so. Slow and easy.  Just want the distance.

Route Change for August 14th

Route change for scheduled 7am Market Station run.
Considering the construction along the W&OD Trail which would prevent us from running a complete Leesburg 10k loop, I am proposing a new route. We will start at Market Station and run the W&OD Trail to where it detours. Once the detour takes us into the neighborhood, instead of turning left to get back to the trail, we will turn right and run a loop through the neighborhood and return to Leesburg by running past the Rust Manor House and Nature Sanctuary. A map of the course can be found at: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3947742. The water stop will be just beyond the 3 mile mark. This means you will pass the water stop twice while running this new course.

I will have printed directions and maps available Saturday morning for this new route. I would be interested to know if anyone else has run this route before.

I'm Up for 96 Tears on Saturday

Let's say that I start at 6:30 a.m. and head out for a reverse Mike Moye Marathon. I'll be up around Trotter lane "when the sun comes up. I'll be on top. You'll be way down there" at Market Station." Aftter about three hours, though, " I'll just cry, cry, I'll just cry. . . . cry, cry, cry . . . ." The MMM from Market Station can last about 24 miles. That's a long way, but the weather looks decent, I need the miles, and doing it in reverse will smooth out some of the hills. It will certainly give me a little appreciation for Tom's journey at Grindstone. (Good luck Long Runner!) With that in mind, 96 are "too many teardrops for one heart." Anyone else interested?

Trail Run on Saturday?

Anyone interested in doing a trail run on Saturday morning?  I was thinking of ~ 12 miles from Keys Gap to Blackburn Trail Center and back, starting at 7:00 a.m.

Yeah for trails!

Count me in for a trail run tomorrow.  It will be nice to get off the roads!  Meet at Keyes Gap at 7?  I've never been there, but I'm sure I'll find it (famous last words...).
