June 20th - 'The Mini Moye'

Some years ago, before Mike ate the wrong side of that Alice in Wondeland mushroom, he created a full marathon from Loudoun County roads that we still occasionally run today.
We're FedEx 'ing Mike to Wyoming this weekend to run the Bighorn MountainTrail Run so he won't be able to lead the way but you can do a shorter variation of the run on Sunday from Rust Library. Here's a trivia question inspired by the picture ... who remembers - 'Don't crush that dwarf, hand me the pliers'.
- About 22 - 23 miles. See the map here.
- Follow Old Waterford Rd. to Hurley Ln.
- Turn left onto Hurley Ln. and follow it to Clarke’s Gap Rd. (662)
- Turn left onto Clarke’s Gap Rd. and follow it to Rt. 9 (Charles Town Pike)
- Turn right onto Rt. 9 then left onto Simpson Circle.
- Follow Simpson Circle to Meadowlark Dr.
- Turn right onto Meadowlark Dr. and follow it to Irene Rd.
- Turn left onto Irene Rd. and follow it to Hamilton Station Rd. (704)
- Turn right on 704 and follow it to Piggott Bottom Rd.
- Follow Piggott Bottom Rd. around to Ivandale Rd.
- Bear left onto Ivandale Rd. and follow it to the W&OD
- Turn left onto the W&OD and follow across Simpson Circle to where it stops at Simpson Circle. (I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true!)
- Turn left onto Simpson Circle and follow it up to Rt. 9
- Turn right onto Rt. 9 and follow it E. Colonial Hwy. (old Rt. 7)
- Turn right onto E. Colonial Hwy. and follow it to Canby Rd.
- Turn left onto Canby Rd. and follow it to Thomas Mill Rd.
- Turn left onto Thomas Mill Rd. and follow it to Dry Mill Rd.
- Turn right onto Dry Mill Rd. and follow it to the W&OD trail.
- Wind through town to get back to Rust
Where/When:
- Sunday: Meet at the Rust Libraryl at 6:00 a.m.

Good luck!

Not sure I'm up for even the Mini-Moye (is there a micro Moye?), but am in for something shy of that from Rust at 6 on Sun.
Count me in!
