3/6 Market Station
I know this is a perfect picture for relating some philosophical whimsy but I'm just not feeling the inspiration. No doubt Phil could tie in Aristotle and silly putty with the weekend run but you're stuck with me. So....
Saturday's run begins at Market Station which offers up the possibility of the Moye Marathon. The route though makes use of the W&OD trail between Clarke's Gap and Hamilton which may still be snow covered. Another option exists which will skip the Hamilton loop and head directly toward Old Waterford Rd from Clarke's Gap. See the map here. A few of us will be running the Seneca Greenway Trail Marathon & 50K on Saturday because ahh .... we like mud. Either choice you make it'll be great weather to be outside. Spring weather and all those races you've been planning are not far off so get off yer butt.

Silly Putty . . .
Submitted by Phil on Fri, 2010-03-05 11:47.My knee is still Silly Putty, so I must sit out the fun at Seneca-Greenway. (Oh crap, is that tomorrow?) Good luck to the mud-skippers who are running. Hope to be back out soon.
I'll be there
Submitted by Karen on Thu, 2010-03-04 22:12.I plan to do around 17, so I will join the gang at 7:00 am and stay with you for as long as I can. Wow...it's Taylorstown one weekend and Thomas Mill the next. Bring it on. = )

7 AM Saturday start
Submitted by Dave Haber on Thu, 2010-03-04 19:29.I need 22 miles this weekend. I have heard of others (that have not posted yet) that need 14 or 16.
I'll join you for a 7AM start at Market station, and may add some milage after we are on the Thomas Mill Canby route.
Mike, I like your suggestion of using the W&OD trail to get to Thomas Mill.
W&OD to Thomas Mill
Submitted by mmoye on Thu, 2010-03-04 20:54.Dave, I didn't mean to suggest using the W&OD to get to Thomas Mill. Rather, the intent was to make folks aware that the normal cut through from Dry Mill to the trail on the old Leesburg 10K route is technically (one could ignore) unavailable because of the detour. The better option is to stay on Dry Mill to the Fairgrounds and then hit the trail. Also, if I had been paying closer attention to Tom's write up above, (which I did read) I would have realized that his "See the map here" Gmap is exactly the same as the one I included in parantheses. Mea culpa, Tom Sometimes I mislead people by being too verbose when verbose is sufficient.
W&OD and miles
Submitted by mmoye on Thu, 2010-03-04 18:38.I also need distance and 14-16 sounds good to me. By including Thomas Mill/Canby/Clarkes Gap/Hurley/Old Waterford we get very close to 16 (see GPedMap ( http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3516992 ) I think a 7 AM start is in order.
As an FYI for the regular run, I ran the W&OD up to the rock at Dry Mill. It's clear up to there and probably up to Clarke's Gap and beyond. The detour through Shenstone coming back is downhill except for a small hill between 4-H and Canongate Dr in Shenstone. The detour adds a scant two tenths of a mile to that section of the trail. Since the regular run cuts into a portion of the trail that is now in detour mode, runners will have to run to the Fairgrounds to join back up with the trail
Count me in
Submitted by StephB on Thu, 2010-03-04 15:25.I need to start getting in more miles. May end up curled up in a fetal position on the side of the road, but I'll give it my best :). I can go either day.
Anyone up for 14-16 miles
Submitted by jane on Thu, 2010-03-04 06:34.Anyone up for 14-16 miles this weekend? I could run Sat or Sun. On Sat we could add the waterford loop and Sun we could add an extra short loop at Philomont...
