Sponsors and Participants Needed for the Fourth Annual Loudoun 10K Trail Race To Benefit Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors.

On November 8th, 2015, the Loudoun Road Runners Club will once again conduct the annual Loudoun 10K Trail Race at scenic Camp Highroad located outside Middleburg, Virginia in order to raise funds for Boulder Crest Retreat and the wounded warriors it serves.

Unfortunately, all too many of our nation’ s military personnel return from the horrors of war requiring months and sometimes years of recovery from severe, life-altering combat injuries and trauma.  Boulder Crest Retreat, a non-profit organization residing on 37-acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, provides military veterans and active-duty military personnel from all eras and conflicts with a peaceful and supportive environment in which they can recuperate from the traumas of war while participating in special rehabilitative programs and therapies.  All services are provided free of charge and Boulder Crest Retreat relies entirely on private donations for its facilities, daily operation and support of America’s courageous warriors.

In past events, the Loudoun 10 K Trail Race has annually raised more than $25,000 to support Boulder Crest in its efforts with 100% of proceeds going directly to the retreat. Sponsors and participants are again needed to support this year’s efforts.

Persons or organizations wishing to provide sponsorship and/or offer charitable donations to support the event and Boulder Crest Retreat can do so by contacting Race Director, Jim Schatz @ schtred@aol.com.

Race participants can join the event after 1 September by registering on –line @ trailrun.loudounroadrunners.org. The race entry fee is $50, which includes receipt of a signature race T-shirt and shoulder bag on the day of the event. The field is limited to the first 200 runners who register and registration fills quickly so early entry is encouraged.

Charitable donations can also be made by check to “Loudoun Road Runners” and mailed to P.O. Box 3342, Leesburg, VA 20177, please write “Loudoun 10K Trail Race” in the memo section of the check.
