Run for Arthritis

Patrick McGlade is a 21 year old from Richmond who is running across the U.S. to raise money for Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Although he has  been a runner for only a few years, he has among his accomplishments a 5th place finish at the Burning River 100 Mile, 2nd place in the GEER 100K and overall winner at the Swinging Bridge 50k ( a favorite of Phil's). I'll be posting the weekly summary that his father compiles here but you can also follow daily progress on Patricks blog at http://patricksrunblog.blogspot.com/

LRR Officer Election

As a member of the Loudoun Road Runners you are eligible to participate in the on-line election of club officers. Details are posted on this site (eyes right).

The process is divided into two steps--on-line nominations first, then the election. During nominations, you will have the opportunity to propose people for various positions. After all the nominations have been processed, you will be able to cast an on-line vote for the candidates of your choice.

Santa's Big Butt Half-Marathon

This note arrived from Karsten Brown of the Shenandoah Valley Runners:

The second race in the Shenandoah Valley Runners' Winter Series, the
Jingle Bell 5K, HAD been scheduled to take place tomorrow-- Saturday
19 December-- at Blandy Experimental Farm & State Arboretum near
Boyce, Virginia. But due to the big snowstorm, the SVR is postponing
the Jingle Bell 5K until NEXT Saturday-- the 26th. It'll still be at
Blandy, and it'll still start at 9:30. Contact r.d. Duane Williamson
at duanegwilliamson@comcast.net if you have any questions or if you
want to volunteer next Saturday.
